Patti’s Paradise

The perfect tropical island family get away! Newly remodeled 2-bedroom condo situated in a quiet neighborhood.

PATTI’S PARADISE is the upper unit of a 2-story building, located at Sundancer Cabanas, a private development centrally located in Sandy Bay. Patti’s Paradise is just minutes away from the popular tourist areas of West End and West Bay and about 15 minutes from the airport. Fabulous sunsets and tranquil views of the Caribbean Sea are just a few steps away…

The Space

Sundancer Cabanas is classic, ageless Roatan surrounded by tropical mature gardens, white sandy beach, dock and community pool just steps away.

The main level has a fully equipped kitchen with a hot/cold water dispenser for all your cooking needs, comfortably furnished living room with flat screen television. Both open to a covered screen porch providing typical outdoor Caribbean lifestyle. Ideal for just relaxing, evening meals or breakfast coffee. There are also 2 air-conditioned bedrooms with queen size beds, shared full bathroom with shower and screened back porch.

The upper level is a spacious air-conditioned loft with 2 twin beds, a half bath and a cozy small, screened porch with hammock.

There are ceiling fans throughout and cable TV and wi-fi are included.

Things to Note

A rental car is recommended but not required.  The main road is close by and taxis are available.

Currency – all local businesses accept US Dollars in addition to Lempiras. Canadian travelers should bring US Dollars as banks here do not convert CDN to Lempiras, the local currency. US Dollars must be in pristine condition with no rips or tears or they may not be accepted by businesses because the local banks won’t accept them. Credit Cards are widely accepted.

Passports – Prior to travel, please make sure your passports are valid at for least 6 months prior to the expiration date. There have been incidents on the island where people have been detained at immigration and even not allowed to board their flight to their home airport due to this important detail.

Energy – Electric is an additional charge, so always turn off AC units when not in the room, or when you leave the home. This will conserve energy usage on the island and keep costs down. We suggest the use of ceiling fans after the house cools.

We stayed 20 nights and it was a comfortable area like home. Thank you Patti.

Patti's Place Clean and very nice cabana. Beautiful jungle setting near the beach. Pool clean and comfortable. The dock was a delight. Diving shop very near. Used $105.00 Electric for 20 nights. Only used AC to cool down 1 room for about an hour. Lots of fans. HUMIDITY 100%. Great washer /dryer.

Barking dogs all night . All night. all night all night.

Treehouse

The unit was what was advertised. It had everything you needed & the screened porch was great. First off. I read reviews before selecting this property. It would have been nice if people mentioned the road construction! OMG. no fault of Sundancer, but we would have gone elsewhere. Our unit was close to the road, the noise & the DUST made it not what we came for, the units further in seemed better. 2nd thing. We come to Roatan for the beach/water we snorkel. The reef is not as close as some say. the beach has no seating so you have to sit on the dock & swim from there, getting in from the beach was silt then seagrass. When we got a car we went elsewhere. If we knew all this we would have rented in West End/ West Bay, which was where we spent most of our time. But, as said the place is as pictured. The place was basically empty, did not see anyone at the dock. Maybe the road work had something to do with that. What a shame. Just a side note. We had arranged a airport pick up. No one showed so we were left stranded on a Sunday with no one to contact, got saved by a fellow passenger from our flight. Do yourself a favour & grab a cab @ the airport. I am being very straight forward in this review so that you know what to expect, It was a nice place & I am not bashing Sundancer, just passing along useful info! We did enjoy our time on the Island, & will be back!

Thank you very much for making time to give us feedback. We’re really sorry for the inconvenience you had. We have addressed this issue and escalated it to the management for immediate action; to ensure that this incident is not repeated again.

Wonderful rustic comfort spring break escape

Loved our stay and would certainly go back again! Just as described, the home was well-suited for our family of 5 (14,12,9 + mom and dad). Perfect rustic charm with the necessary modern amenities and comforts (AC, fans, free onsite laundry- bonus!, really great wifi and tv, well equipped kitchen and grill, screened porches for bug protection and to be able to sit outside comfortably). Love the trails, flora and fauna of the community property- hummingbirds, sightings of "island rabbits", birds, lizards, gorgeous trees and flowers. Snorkeling off the dock was awesome. We ventured out on our during our first days and were truly impressed. When our snorkeling excursion, which we asked to take us to the 6 best snorkeling spots, brought us back to Sandy Bay, just a few hundred meters from where we had independently explored off the dock, we were happy to know that we were in the right place for best in class snorkeling! Enjoyed the convenience of the pool. Location is great- quiet and away from the busy of West End or West Bay but still very close to get to these spots. Felt entirely safe. Kind neighbours. Enjoyed convenience of Coconuts restaurant and Cevicherie and Circle K within walking distance. We rented a car and found it easy to navigate. Highly recommend everything about this vacation home!

Dear Erin. Thank you for giving us a perfect rating and for recommending Patti's Paradise to other travelers. Take care and we hope to have you back with us soon!

Very nice unit. We especially loved the screened in porch! Felt like we were staying in a very nice, spacious treehouse. We were a bit surprised by the request for our credit card information to be emailed to them for the incidentals deposit instead of having that go through Airbnb, but they were responsive and understanding to our concern. Especially liked staying closing to town instead of farther away in West End or West Bay, but caveat is that the beach is not quite as nice. Nonetheless a lovely place and we would stay here again in the future

Thank you so much for your kind words. We really appreciate you taking the time out to share your experience at Patti's Paradise.
